The Flask, Highgate

£1,750.00

A fabulous pub in the heart of Highgate, loved by so many for its pretty beer garden in the summer and cosy fires in the winter. The Flask is a Grade II listed building and according to a 1936 survey of London, may have stood in this spot since at least as early as 1663. It is believed to have been named after the flasks of Hampstead mineral water that could be purchased there when Hampstead was popular for its wells in the 18th Century. This angle shows off a little bit of everything - the variety of colours in the brick in the main building, the beautiful flowers, ornate sign and St Michael’s church in the background.

This original piece was drawn using ink and pencil on Fabriano Aquarello watercolour paper. It is mounted on a high float resting on a ‘minuet’ board to compliment the drawing. It is framed with a slim black wooden frame. The glass used in the frame is anti-reflective AR70 high clarity Artglass to both protect and preserve the drawing, and also ensure the highest quality visual experience with very little reflection or glare to distract the eye. The frame is included in the above price.

Paper size: W 59.4cm H 42cm

Frame size: W 67cm H 50cm
